Couple's Therapy
Relationship therapy is a more inclusive term used to describe couple's therapy. It recognises that not everybody is in a couple relationship, and that there are many forms of relationship dynamic that exist.
Research shows that people experiencing problematic relationships are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression, therefore it is important to understand the issues and problems that cause relationship difficulty. One of the main goals of relationship therapy is to develop effective communication. Without it people often feel unappreciated and invalidated.
Helping you reconnect can play an important part in saving a relationship, but it isn't always about staying together. Relationship therapy can also help you separate in a way that is amicable, and that limits trauma.
Relationship therapy can help with:
lack of intimacy
family conflicts
work stress
financial problems
trust, jealousy and infidelity issues

Family Therapy
Family therapy is often referred to as systemic therapy, as the family are part of a 'system'.
Systemic therapy focuses on relationships between people, and the importance of the interrelated parts which influence the functioning of the family.
During family therapy sessions we will seek to make sense of the world through relationships, with a focus on the whole family system. By exploring relationship patterns we can understand how they impact on others, and uncover how our experiences (and the context in which we live) can shape how we think and feel about ourselves and others.
Family therapy can help:
* facilitate and improve communication
* solve challenging family issues
* improve home environment
* strengthen relationships
* strengthen the family system
* model, educate, and myth spelling
